Funeral Service for Margaret Lewadny

Laraine Tapak’s mother, Margaret Lewadny, passed away on Monday January 16^th . Margaret worked in our print shop from 1979 to 1989 and was well respected around the College. Margaret’s funeral will be held on Monday, January 23^rd at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s church.

Parking Passes are required in all lots by January 16^th. If you do not have a valid parking pass for 2012 please apply online at https://www.trustedshopper.com/concollegeparking/. The spirit of Christmas is already alive at the library, and once again we are offering our annual FOOD FOR FINES. For every item of non-perishable food that you bring to the library between November 21^st and December 9^th, $1.00 will be waived from your library fines. The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Please join us for a time of remembrance on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, taking place next Tuesday December 6^th, in the Shuniah Student Lounge at 12:30pm.

As well as commemorating the 14 young women whose lives ended in an act of gender-based violence at the Montreal Massacre, this day represents an opportunity to reflect on the phenomenon of violence against women in our society.

Children's Christmas Party

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

The Children’s Christmas party will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Ryan Hall (cafeteria) from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. College employees and students are invited to bring their children/grandchildren to the Christmas party.

Academic Upgrading Recognition Day - Dec 2 - Victoria Inn

This day is to recognize learners’ achievements who are involved in Academic Upgrading programs. Guest speakers will be present and presentation of awards and certificates are given out at this ceremony.

Get your tickets to the Thunderhawks Women's Hockey Team Fundraising Spaghetti Dinner being held next Wednesday in Ryan Hall.

Great food and great entertainment. The Event will feature the introduction of team players, and staff, and some excellent entertainment delivered by College Staffers John "Jussi Rockatalo" Kantola and Tony Wood. Sit Down $10, Takeout $8.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 23^rd, 2011 as Confederation College hosts Open House 2011. Doors will be open to grade 11 and 12 students at 10am and to the general public at 4pm. ‘Tis the season of giving - for our students, college and community. Beginning the 21^st of November, the two week United Way/Confederation College/Stock the Bank campaign will be a combination of presentations and events filled with lots of ‘fun’!

Looking for donations for Book Sale by Academic Upgrading

The annual Academic Upgrading Booksale is coming up, and we are looking for saleable items: books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, games etc.. All proceeds go to Academic Upgrading student awards.

If you have books etc. to donate, please take them to the Upgrading Lab (S340) by November 18^th.

It’s that time of year again, SUCCI’s Annual Fall Clothing Giveaway is fast approaching… so check those closets and bring in your new, or gently used items to the SUCCI Office before November 14^th and we will find them a home with a student in need. The 2011 graduating Confederation College Practical Nursing students are celebrating their accomplishments with a traditional “Pinning Ceremony” on Friday May 20^th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Da Vinci Centre.

The pinning ceremony has been a graduation tradition that signifies the transition from student to nurse.

Our Thunderhawks Men's & Women's Indoor Soccer teams have returned from competition at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association's (OCAA) Central West Regional Championships held at the OSC (Ontario Soccer Centre) in Vaughan, ON.
