To take an online course, students must have access to a personal computer with a modem (56 K recommended) and an account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP).  Please note: You will be required to have access to the specific required computer software for your course if you are taking a course such as:  Word, Powerpoint, Access, etc.

Q. How do I get my course materials?
Once registered, an Online Learning Information Page will be emailed to you.  If you register more than 3 days prior to course start date, you will receive your letter as soon as it is queued for production  - but you will receive it before the start date of the course.  It is the responsibility of the student to obtain the course materials unless indicated otherwise. We suggest www.textnet.ca. You may also check the host college’s online bookstore or the Follett Bookstore at Confederation College.   If you are unsuccessful in obtaining your textbook, please contact Online Learning at Confederation College immediately.  onlinelearning@confederationc.on.ca

Q. Do I have to be on-line at any specific time?
Some of the courses may have mandatory group work and mandatory chats where you will be required to be logged into your course on a specific date at a specific time. This information can be found in each individual course description. It is important to note that online courses do require active participation through online communication with the instructor and other students. The instructor provides a study schedule that keeps students on track.  It is is the student's responsibility to check the course study schedule to ensure that they are meeting assignment, test and end date deadlines associated with each course.
