Try to imagine life without modern water distribution and sewage collection, treatment and disposal systems; without our buildings, bridges, power and flood control dams, airports, highways and other mass transit facilities.
These are just some of the indispensable civil engineering infrastructure works that are taken for granted by populations around the world.
In addition to the constant demand for new such facilities, much of the existing infrastructure has reached and even exceeded its original design life, and must be repaired or replaced, creating a predicted high demand for Civil Engineers and Civil Engineering Technologists in the future.
Many of our graduates have gone on to rewarding careers with engineering consultants, municipal and government agencies and construction companies in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. Others have developed and enjoyed the success of their own civil engineering related business. It is also possible, with good academic standing to receive full credit toward a university degree in Civil Engineering leading to the professional designation "P.Eng."
Think about the possibilities. Are you up to the challenge?
Peter Kuzyk,
Program Coordinator, Civil Engineering Technology
