In today's fast-paced world where an abundance of information is available at the click of a mouse, individuals, businesses, industry, governments and other organizations recognize that effective communication is essential to their success. As a result, a large corporation often has a communications department with several staff devoted to internal and external communications, while a smaller company might employ communications professionals on a full time or consulting basis. Communications practitioners develop and implement communication plans, produce written and web-based materials for a variety of audiences, conduct media relations and organize special events.

The Corporate Communications Post-Degree/Diploma Certificate is designed to equip learners with a broad range of skills necessary to gain employment in the communication field. Graduates will be qualified for a variety of positions including communications officers, media relations officers, media monitoring assistants or special events coordinators. With experience graduates can obtain positions as communications managers, or start their own business as communications consultants.

Employment Opportunities: 

Communications practitioners are employed by consulting firms, corporations, associations, government, social agencies, museums, public interest groups, cultural and other organizations; or they may be self employed. Many practitioners accept entry level communications and promotional positions before moving on to careers in issues management and crisis communication.

Admission Requirements: 

Degree or diploma from an accredited university or college.
