Additional Certifications

  • Water and Wastewater Operator-in-Training (OIT) Certification - Students will be prepared for and have the option of writing the Ministry of the Environment Operator-in-Training (OIT) exam. Those successful in passing this Provincial certification exam will be able to work as operators in either water or wastewater facilities.
  • Entry-Level Drinking Water Operator Course - Students who successfully complete the program will have met the requirements of the Ministry of the Environment's Entry-Level Course for Drinking Water Operators. This course is delivered by Confederation College in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment and the Walkerton Clean Water Centre. The Provincial course has been integrated into EI324, an existing fourth semester course on Water and Wastewater Treatment. Successful students will receive their Provincial certification following graduation from the Environmental Technician Program.
