Natural Resources - Forest Ecosystem Management Technician

2-year, Ontario College Diploma Program

Program History

Our program was originally started at Lakehead University in 1949. It was the basis for the forestry degree program, which was introduced in 1973. The then called Forestry Technician program ran for approximately 50 years and was eventually transferred to Confederation College for start-up in fall 2002. The technician and degree programs are still closely linked, with cross-campus instruction occurring annually. Approximately ten percent of students graduating from the college program continue their studies at the university. Our program has had exceptional graduate employment success and employer satisfaction.
