In 1998/99, "Key Performance
Indicators" were implemented for the first time in all Ontario
Colleges. External consultants collected data and reported on graduate
employment, graduate, student and employer satisfaction and graduate
rates.
-
Graduate Employment Rates
As one of the Key Performance Indicator
initiatives introduced by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and
Universities, a province-wide survey of all Ontario college graduates
was conducted by an independent consultant. Graduate employment data
reflects the employment status of the graduates, six months after
graduation.
-
Graduation Rates
The Graduation Rate refers to the percentage
of year 1 students who subsequently complete their program in the normal
program span of 1, 2 or 3 years. While common methods have been used to
calculate program-related information by all colleges, there may be some
differences between how universities and private colleges calculate
their information.
-
OSL (Ontario Student Loan) Default
Rates
Default rates are calculated base on the
last program attended by the student. Students could therefore have
outstanding outstanding loans brought to Confederation College from
previous programs & previous institutions.
The 2008 default rates reflect the repayment
status of students who were issued Ontario Student Loans in the 2005/06 academic year
and did not receive an Ontario Student Loan in 2006-07 and who defaulted
on their Ontario Student Loan repayment obligations as of July 2008.
These rates are updated on an annual basis.
Notes:
-
A common methodology has been used for
the calculations for all program-related information provided by all
colleges.
-
The data is effective as of April, and
is updated annually.
-
Each program is identified with an
Approved Program Sequence Code (APS) that is assigned for each
approved program by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and
Universities.
