Instrumentation Engineering Technician - Process Automation and Control

Are you mechanically inclined? Instrumentation technicians commission, install, calibrate, maintain and repair complex measurement and control systems used in a variety of process control applications. Your study program will provide for you a solid footing in both theory and practice, utilizing hands-on experience in a modern, well-equipped laboratory designed to emulate common control systems found in industry.

Students have the opportunity to apply for a seat in the Instrumentation Co-op Diploma Apprenticeship (CODA) program. The training provided satisfies all the in-school requirements for an Instrumentation and Control Technician Apprentice.

Graduates find employment in process industries such as Power Generation, Mining, Pulp and Paper, Oil Refining, as well as Engineering firms and Sales + Service. Future employment can be expected in Alternate Energy Applications and Biomedical Equipment maintenance and repair.

The program offers optional co-op placements (mandatory in the CODA program) where students have the opportunity to obtain related work experience beyond what can be offered in theory or lab classes.

The program is the only one of its kind in the province of Ontario that is nationally accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board (CTAB)
