How to Book a Group Study Room

Group Study Rooms

Paterson Library Commons has 5 Group Study Rooms available for group work during library hours.  Located on the 1st floor of the library, each room includes an internet connection and wireless capability, a 40" Samsung wall mounted monitor with remote control, an Intel E7500 computer with Windows XP and a JVC combination VHS/DVD player, as well as a table that sits 4 to 6 people comfortably.  The library also loans out additional equipment (ie. video cameras, flip charts, laptops, etc.) to assist students with completing assignments or presentations.

To Access
  • The room must be booked through the Booking System  using your college email address (first time users, follow the registration process)
  • The Room Key must be signed out from the Library's 2nd floor Desk for the booked time slot
  • Remote controls for the equipment can be booked out at the same Desk
  • A student/staff ID card is required

Guidelines
  • A reservation is required to access a study room
  • Rooms can be booked in advance for up to a 2 hour time slot, with a maximum of 8 hours per week per student
  • Only cold snacks and covered cups are allowed - no hot foods
  • Upon entering a study room, inspect it for visible damages and report any problems/damages to Library staff
  • Please respect fellow students, leave the room neat and tidy - remove all personal items and garbage
  • If  you decide not to use the study room, please delete your booking - this will remove it from the 8 hour maximum
  • If you fail to arrive within the first 15 minutes, the room may be assigned to another group of students
  • All rooms must be vacated and keys returned 5 minutes prior to the end of the booking time (to avoid a late fine)
  • The Library reserves the right to delete multiple bookings beyond the first 2 hours
  • The Library is not responsible for the loss/damage of personal items left unattended in any room
  • The user booking the room is responsible for any damages to the room, or the equipment, during the booked time slot
  • Failure to observe the Library rules may result in loss of access to study rooms, fines, or replacement/damage costs where  applicable

Please take care of the equipment and the facilities so that we can continue to offer these services.
