Who We Are
Confederation Natural Resources Centre (CNRC), which includes both Confederation College and Negahneewin College, opened July 2004 to provide an enhanced learning environment for student education and training. Located in Thunder Bay, CNRC sits in the largest Canadian forestry community and is the only College of Applied Arts and Technology in Northwestern Ontario.
The CNRC is the single access point for education, training, technology transfer, and applied research and development. Together it links education to employment in unprecedented ways, promoting human resource development & economic growth while preserving the ecological foundations needed for sustainability.
We have established and enhanced the education, training and technology transfer capacity in Northwestern Ontario. The focus is on applied resource technologies, bio-energy, Aboriginal resource management, the value-added forest sector and all elements of sustainable natural resource management.
What we do
- Support and encourage private enterprise;
- Provide a network to “on the ground” personnel and contractors/operators addressing local needs and issues;
- Establish positive working relationships with all levels of government to address problems, issues and concerns that affect the business people working in the resource sector.
Where we are
We are located at 2400 Nipigon Road on the main campus. See map:
