Our community identity finds expression first and foremost through Negahneewin Council, which exemplifies the spirit of collaboration between Aboriginal communities and Confederation College.

Negahneewin Council helps us on this journey to break through barriers and lead the way.

Negahneewin Council is made up of representatives from various Aboriginal organizations and education and training providers in the region:

The Aboriginal Community Advocacy program lays the groundwork for the understanding of how Aboriginal People exist within Canada's legal, political and historical framework. At the same time, the program empowers students to strive for and attain their own sovereignty and autonomy. This program has truly laid the foundation for my life's work.
