I am so happy with myself for making the choice to continue my education through Confederation College. I have met some amazing people along the way, and opened doors for myself through the friends I have made at the college, and am now pursuing my dream of becoming a nurse practitioner.

I chose Confederation College because I have always wanted to be a nurse, and one day when I was at work, a childhood acquaintence by the name of Rich Tatebe suggested I go to school. He is the Program Co-ordinator for the Social Services Program at Confederation College, and he said I know you don't want to serve coffee for the rest of your life! Why don't you come sit in one of my lectures, and see if your ready? Two years later here I am, a Pre-Health Sciences Graduate. I had the opportunity to speak in one of his classes, and I am on my way into Practical Nursing.

My most positive experience at the College would have to be getting to know many of my professors at the College Open House, and working for the School College Work Initiative (SCWI) Guiding Grade 7 & 8 students from all over North Western,Ontario throughout the Health Services areas of the college to hopefully get the children interested in chosing a college education.

I have gained the strength to present myself in front of a crowd, and I have gained the confidence to do anything I want in life. Everyday at Confederation College is different.

One memory I enjoyed was during the week of Halloween. The Student Union leaders were in the student lounge painting students faces like zombies, and I decided to get mine done as well.

As for professors, I can not say that I have come across one professor that I did not like. They were all great!

eing able to help others, I love being there when people need someone. It makes me feel like I am making a difference in the world!

My advice for others ... Don't give up! Times can get hard, but you will always come out on top, as long as you strive for your goals. If you work hard, you will get what you want in life! When times got stressful, I was able to speak with a professional councellor FOR FREE, and didn't have to be placed on a waiting list. I was able to learn new coping strategies, and keep on going!

From my perspective, employers are looking for people with critical thinking, excellent people skills, and those with an open mind.

I think it would be nice if the college had more Varsity Sports on top of the few they already have: Basketball, Hockey, Football, etc.
