Are you looking for a fast-paced, exciting career? The paramedic program at Confederation College may be right for you.
This two year Ontario College diploma program provides students with the skills and knowledge to practice emergency pre-hospital care. Once completed, graduates are eligible to write the provincial exam set by the Ministry of Health.
Graduates have been employed in rewarding careers with ambulance services, the health and safety field, rescue and dispatch areas.

Jessica Dykes
Program Coordinator Paramedic - (Dryden, Fort Francis and Kenora)
The School of Health and Community Services welcomed Jessica Dykes as our newest faculty member teaching for the paramedic program and Coordinator of our regional paramedic campuses (September 2010). Jessica is a graduate of the Primary Care Paramedic Program from Cambrian College and a graduate of the Advanced Care Paramedic and Aeromedical programs from Sunnybrook Flight Paramedic Academy. Jessica also attended the University of Manitoba where she earned her Certificate in Quality Management.
Jessica comes to the College with an extensive background in the Emergency Medical Services field serving as a Primary Care Paramedic, an Advanced Care Flight Paramedic, She was a Regional Instructor for the Ministry of Health Region 6, Clinical Coordinator for the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre and most recently as the Manager of Quality Assurance, Training and Staff Development for the Northwest Emergency Medical Services where she was largely responsible for the on-going monitoring and training of paramedic qualifications in the Northwest Region. She currently (May 2011) works part-time for Northwest EMS (Ignace) as a Primary Care Paramedic.
Jessica has now been at our College for a whole academic year! Jessica is now looking forward to starting with another eager class of students in our new REACH facility this September 2011. Plus, working with Regional Students and staff at Dryden, Fort Francis and Kenora campuses.
