In 2nd and 4th semesters, you will have the opportunity to work in a power plant to obtain practical, qualifying experience towards your 4th and 3rd Class Interprovincial Power Engineering Certification. You will also study newer technologies such as "Co-Gen" plants, where heat energy "left over" from gas turbines is used to produce supplemental electricity, significantly lowering overall plant energy costs. Upon graduation, your skills would be demand in the pulp and paper, mining, petroleum, electrical generation and various other sectors across Canada.
