Overview

Help Students Reach Their Goals!

When we think school, we think teachers. But more and more, the educational team relies upon assistants to provide support to students with diverse needs. Assistants play a crucial role in maintaining supervision and safety in the school setting, implementing modified or alternate academic programming, and providing personal care. They work directly with students, bringing enthusiasm and dedication to school every day in order to make a difference in their students’ lives. Could that person be you?

Confederation College’s Educational Support program will give you the skills and knowledge you need to join a multidisciplinary education team, working with children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. You will learn a wide range of current strategies and techniques to support whole child development, as well as instructional best practices, applied behaviour analysis, assistive technologies and personal care. You’ll develop the knowledge and skills needed to create safe learning environments for children with diverse abilities and backgrounds, including those with a wide range of learning, behavioural, communication, physical, developmental and intellectual exceptionalities.

  • The Educational Support program welcomes a new cohort every two years in the fall of every even-numbered year.
  • The Educational Support program is available at regional campuses throughout Northwestern Ontario, at Contact North sites and eLearning sites throughout Ontario and in your home!
