  • Assess recreation and leisure needs of people with disabling conditions.
  • Use accepted forms of documentation to prepare reports.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate recreation therapy treatment programs. 

  • Provide client and family therapeutic leisure education and counselling. 
  • Analyze recreation therapy activities.
  • Organize league or tournament for recreation therapy clients.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional team to safely and effectively manage therapeutic recreation services.
  • Inform and educate other health care disciplines. 
  • Supervise students, volunteers, and assistants. 
  • Participate in clinical evaluations. 
  • Manage finances to administer recreation therapy services. 
  • Develop plans for ongoing personal and professional growth and development.
  • Assess career opportunities, trends, and issues related to therapeutic recreation.
